We often times think about DMC controlling a significantly large process area. However, there may be times when there is no advantage to controlling the entire process with DMC, but there is an advantage to control just a small section of the process. One example I've seen is a DMC controller running at a high execution frequency doing combustion control on a furnace. (Yes, there are PID overrides just in case DMC is not quick enough.)
Do you folks have any other examples of applications for DMC technology on a small problem?
